Why is it called “Storm”?
MD: Because it has all the power and the electric charge of a storm of course!
What features make Storm the ideal machine for Coffee Mixology and Latte Art?
MD: without a perfect (espresso) base, it is impossible to create an amazing coffee cocktail. With Storm, the barista can customize the extraction curve and quickly change the parameters of the pre-infusion phase, the pressure and the temperatures of each group, thus creating a truly impeccable espresso to be used as an ideal base for crafting your cocktails. For me the secret of a memorable drink lies in finding the perfect balance between the ingredients - especially between coffee and "spirits".
AT: there are many features that make Storm the ideal partner for Latte Art. If I had to mention the main one, I would say the dry steam because it makes it much easier to draw precise drawings and patterns on the surface of the milk. The particles of water are retained inside the wand and, consequently, the whipped milk stays creamy, homogeneous and dry, making it the ideal base for experimenting with free pour and for creating new patterns. Without Storm’s dry steam I would have never been able to create the detailed shapes and features of the “deer looking back”, the drawing that made me win the World Latte Art Championship in 2017.
Are you ready for The Milan Coffee Festival?
MD: absolutely! I can’t wait to perform my signature cocktail on the Coffee Mixology stage and to hear what the audience thinks after tasting it!
AT: I have so many ideas that the difficulty will be to select only a few for the live demo of Latte Art. I will surely improvise some creative patterns using the Free Pour techniques that I have perfected and customized in the past few years.
